The aftermath of winter storm Uri has been devastating for many families. Many homes experienced long power outages and loss of water, which in many cases caused pipes to burst. If you are looking for a way to help there are non-profit companies that are helping with food distribution, they continually (especially now) need donations of food or monetary donations. Donating to these companies will help families to put food on the table in a time when they otherwise might not be able to.

Meals on Wheels

Seniors in our community rely on the volunteers at Meals on Wheels for a hot meal. Meals on Wheels lost all of their food with the power outages, and are relying on the generous support of the community. They have an Amazon Wishlist set up or you can drop off donations directly to their main office in Conroe.

Animal Shelters

Among all of all of the things that we have been dealing with in our homes we can not forget our furry friends. Shelters are overwhelmed with need. Some of the things shelters need are unopened food or treats, leashes/ collars, sturdy toys, sheets/towels/blankets, and monetary donations. Call ahead to your local shelter if you would like to make a donation. Here are a few local shelters that are in need, Montgomery County Animal Shelter, Pure Mutts Animal Sanctuary, Cypress Lucky Mutt Rescue
