Ways and Places to Donate

Christmas is over, have you started putting decorations away yet? While you are making room for all of the decorations in your closets and storage areas why not pull out the gently used items that you no longer need to be storing and donate them. Finding a donation center can be daunting, but donating your items to an organization that can make sure they find a new home, someone to love them the way you did is an easy way to breathe new life into your loved items.

Dress for Success

Dress for Success Houston is an organization that helps women to achieve their professional goals, by providing clothing, purses, shoes that are suitable for a professional atmosphere. Donations are accepted on Fridays from 10 am - 2 pm, please have donations clean, pressed and on a hanger. Check out this link for more information on what is needed. Donate Stuff is a non-profit organization that partners with local charities. When you schedule a donation pickup you will be able to choose from their list of charities and decide who will benefit from your donation. They collect clothing, books, household furnishings, electronics, and more. Follow this link for a list of what they accept and for setting up a pickup time and date.

Animal Shelter Volunteers of Texas

Animal Shelter Volunteers is an animal welfare organization that benefits dogs and cats who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected. Along with monetary donations they also accept collars and leashes (new or gently used), towels and throw blankets, potty pads, dog and cat beds (new or gently used), toys, and crates. Interfaith of The Woodlands, Hand Me Up Shop

Interfaith of The Woodlands is a non-profit organization that helps families with many different areas of need, such as a food pantry, as well as offering assistance with financial support. One of the other areas that they help support the community is with the Hand Me Up Shop. The Hand Me Up Shop sells gently used clothing, boutique items, books, toys, houseware items, and many more. Paralyzed Veterans of America

Paralyzed Veterans of America’s aim is to help members and their families, veterans, and all people with disabilities. Family Thrift Store accepts donations on behalf of Paralyzed Veterans of America, for a drop-off center click here. They will also pick up donations if you are unable to take your donations to one of their locations. There is also the opportunity to make a monetary donation if you would like.
